‘Shamal’

Beneteau First 24

Shamal is versatile lifting keel cruiser / racer first launched in 1985. She is in very good condition inside and out having been lovingly maintained. She is well equipped inventory including nearly new: 8hp Yamaha engine; battery;sails by Jeckells;Stack pack and sprayhood. She also has beaching legs to enable her to dry out.

She has 5 comfortable berths in 3 cabins with a separate heads / wet locker and a galley area with two burner cooker and sink, with standing headroom in the companion way.

Shamal is a delight to sail, providing sparkling performance in light airs and handling well in a stiffer breeze.

Dimensions: LOA 7.4m LWL 6.98m, Beam 2.5m Draft 0.8m, (with keel up); 1.6m (with keel down).

Albin Vega 27 Dumbéa, Port Edgar The Albin Vega has earned herself a reputation for being an outstanding offshore cruiser. She was designed by Per Brohall as a fast, light, ocean cruiser with berths for four adults. Well over 3,000 Vegas were built in a production run that extended more than a decade, and thousands of them are now sailing all over the world. This particular boat completed a circumnavigation of the UK by the Lowland route last year. She was extensively refitted for the trip in 2008-09 and is ready for serious cruising. She is now up for sale (as we have a larger boat) and sadly can’t keep two! Twin Axle Braked Road Trailer for sale that was built specifically for a GK24 although it would suit a keel boat such as a sonata. Used it a few times on the road but normally only for winter storage. It is in excellent condition having been epoxied from new. It has four acro-prop stanchions with removable top pads. It also has an adjustable restraint for the base of the keel. The only marks on it are where I’ve been a bit careless with the antifoul! I will consider any sensible offer. YANMAR GM10 AVAILABLE for SPARES When our engine packed in last year we spent a lot of time rebuilding the top end suspecting a burst cylinder head gasket and or piston rings were the main problem. Alas we ultimately discovered that in fact the big end had gone involving a prohibitively expensive crank shaft, bearings and con rod repair. Hence decision to cut our losses and buy a new engine. Not with standing this the old engine has several new parts ie water pump (£250), alternator (£95), injector (£85), short(£56) and long (£68) oil return pipes which seem to always require regular replacement, a good starter motor and many other good serviceable parts. I would prefer to get rid of it as a one lot rather than bit by bit which would end up a hassle. What ever - I am open to any reasonable offer.
